| What is the difference between an accordion,a piano accordion and a concertina? | | I have seen a busker in our town who plays what i think is an accordion it has a lovely sound, a bit like a big harmonica, but his instrument has keys on it too like a little piano so is it an accordion, a piano accordion, a concertina or something else?
I remember my dad mentioning an instrument called a squeeze box which sounds like it might be another version of an accordion.
Any one know which is which or is this just different names for the same thing?
| | Leavenworth Accordion Celebration | | This is the first year I've taken the time to go to Leavenworth Washington for the accordion Celebration. It was well worth the time and effort. Leavenworth is a small town with a Barvarian theme and the accordion is the one instrument that fits right it. We met some wonderful people and heard some Great Music. It's wonderful to find out the interest in the accordion has not died! Beside the competition and concerts there was the accordion Parade on Saturday and then the experience of rushing down to Andres Keller for the jam sessions every night after the concerts. I highly recommend a person take in the celebration each June! | |

| | Can you ever own too many instruments? | | Yesterday a friend stopped by to tell me he had found an add on Craig's list offering an accordion for sale. The person said it was hand made in East Germany and he didn't know the value of it but wanted to sell it. I went to take a look at the instrument and am now the proud owner of a Max Grimm Piano Accordion. My wife wasn't too happy as I already own Three Milton Mann DaVinci Accordins, Four Horner Accordions, A Universal Accordion, A couple of Guitars, A Trumpet, and a Grand Piano. I told here that unlike cars and other items Musical Instruments do not really lose value but become more valuable over time. Besides, I play all of my instruments on a regular basis. She said that I own too many instruments. I don't think you can ever own to many instruments! What do you think? | |

| | Will fooling around lead to real playing? | | My daughter loves to "play" our piano. Now I use the term "play" very loosely. She can make a horrible racket on it. Sometimes it's a little bit more than I can bear. I don't have the heart to tell her to stop playing though because I can't help but think that it might lead to her actually wanting to learn to "play" for real. Any thoughts? | |

| | what is the most memorable experience you have in school? | | There are lots of activities our school organized for the highschool students. Examples are intramurals, nutrition week, highschool week and so on. The most memorable experience to me is that I became a dancer on our cheering during my first year. At my second year I became a propsmen due to my sickness and long absence that's why they did not allow to continue being a dancer. On my third year I became a squad. Now that's interesting. On my fourth year I want to become a squad again. I also like the Highschool week where we have to wear nerdy or weird clotes. Have a twin and wear the same clothes. And Lastly the 1940's clothes, It's a lot of fun.
Now what's your most memorable experience in school?
